This guide describes special items that can assist adventurers in combat. Some items require exploration to find, while others are created by particular guilds or obtained from kits.
Acid Vial
Source: Specially trained rogues
When thrown at an opponent, the vial shatters and spills acid over the target's body, clothing, and armour. The acid damages flesh and corrodes the protective properties of worn materials. This effect cannot be stacked, so it is only useful once per opponent.
Alchemy Potion
Sources: Merchants and traders
The effects of alchemy potions are still unclear because they are relatively new to the world.
Source: Ranger and adventurer kits in the Shadow Market; a special five-use version is offered by the Imperial Cavalier at Villa Ferlada
This bamboo syringe contains a serum that can be injected into the user's arm. It imbues the muscles with the power to strike an opponent several times in a row, much like the druid mushroom.
Caltrops
Source: Merchants
When caltrops are placed on the ground, any player character entering that room can be cut by their spikes. A hire or familiar following the player can also be injured.
The number of uses a set of caltrops has depends on the number of links stated in the caltrops' description.
Cedar sap immobilizes an opponent's arms, preventing the target from swinging a weapon or fist.
Clove
Source: Dahkoar clerics
An infectious clove can be crushed into an enemy to cause a lasting infection and damage over time. Its effect cannot be stacked or duplicated by having several people use cloves on the same opponent.
Dart Blower
Source: Warriors
Made from bamboo and fitted with a dart, this tool can be used against an opponent to cause a small amount of piercing damage.
Druid Mushroom
Source: Druids
Grown through the power of Ateraan, this fungus causes a powerful reaction in the user's mind, allowing a short burst of multiple weapon strikes against an opponent.
Elven Fire Scroll
Source: Exploration
This precursor to the fire scroll created by the mages of Gahlen can be read alongside a mage-crafted fire scroll, causing additional damage to a group of attackers.
Elven Ice Wand
Source: Exploration
The Elven ice wand works like the shamanic ice wand. The two can be fired one after the other to cause additional damage.
Fire Bomb
Source: Traders
Fire bombs are similar to fire torches, but they are far stronger. They unleash a powerful explosion and fire upon the target.
Created from the power of fire contained within a gem, this volatile item can be thrown at an opponent to cause a large amount of fire damage.
Fire Scroll
Source: Mages
A fire scroll enchanted by a mage sends a fan of flames outward, attacking all enemies in the area who are hostile to the reader.
Fire Torch
Source: Merchants and traders
A merchant or trader creates this dangerous tool by applying lava resin to a torch. It can be thrown from the same or an adjacent location, exploding with fiery force and causing an initial burst of damage.
The flames continue to burn the opponent for several rounds. This lasting effect cannot be multiplied, though additional torches can still cause their initial burst damage.
Gold Dust
Source: Exploration
Like silver dust, gold dust is used against an opponent. It saps the target's endurance, making further movement difficult without food to restore that endurance.
Ice Wand
Source: Shamans
Created from the power of the Flow and embodying the element of ice, the shamanic ice wand can be aimed at a foe to cause painful ice damage.
Maple Sap
Source: Druids
Maple sap is imbued with a druidic prayer that attracts maple bees to the target upon whom the mystical sap is thrown.
Martial Elixir
Source: Ranger and adventurer kits in the Shadow Market
This potion contains several drinks. Its serum strengthens the user's body, allowing weapons to strike harder and deal more damage.
Pine Sap
Source: Druids
Pine sap is used to hold an opponent in place, preventing the target from leaving their current location.
Shadow Orb
Source: Dahkoar clerics
Crafted through the words of a Dahkoar cleric and the might of the Dahkoar Lord, a shadow orb can be cast at an opponent. It deals damage while drawing away life force and returning a small amount of health to the user.
Silver Dust
Source: Exploration
The origin of its magical properties is unknown. The dust can be thrown at an opponent to cause a small amount of damage.
Snowball
Source: Usually found at the winter tree during winter
Magically packed and preserved to remain frozen year-round, this snowball can knock an opponent down and completely wind them, leaving them unable to move without assistance.
Stingray Tail
Source: Exploration
Taken from a stingray, the tail retains some of the creature's electrical charge. Aiming it at someone shocks the target and causes damage.
Throwing Spear
Source: Warriors
Built from a wooden shaft and steel tip, these spears can be thrown at an opponent to cause a large amount of piercing damage. Depending on the spear's quality, it can occasionally be reused.
Trolahk Tusk
Source: Exploration
This heavy but sharp tusk from a Trolahk can be used to stab an opponent, causing piercing damage.
Venopede Leg
Source: Exploration
Harvested from a poisonous Venopede, the leg retains the creature's ability to poison. Stabbing it into an opponent infects the target and causes painful damage over time. This effect cannot be stacked.
